At first you have a welcoming environment, but eventually throughout the years, there is a type of hierarchy, and you must know your place in order to fit in. If you stand out just a little bit, such as dying your hair a different color or getting a new piercing, you are judged until eventually people start to mimic you as a new trend, until it's considered lame. I believe that they need to show the students how to keep their heads high on expressing themselves in a positive nature against such judgments. And to show the kids here that they are not invincible to negative outside forces.
