The sooner this location closes the better it'll be for downtown Chippewa. This store is an overpriced joke. Expired milk still for sale on the shelves and the shelves are all half empty. It's one thing to close because you can't afford to pay your bills, and it's another when the store jacks up prices to rip off customers just to try and stay open as long as possible. That's wrong imo. I tried to return a bottle of pain killers that were almost expired, and they charged me more than what the advertised price showed on the sign. They refused to give me a refund, exchange it, or even give me the difference back that they stole from me. The day this store closes I'll be outside there celebrating. I can't believe I'm actually writing a review about a grocery store. I've been shopping for myself for 20 years at cubs, big bears, Walmart, Gordy's, meijer and Krogers and I have never been this upset about how I was treated by the staff. They just lost my business forever and I'll be hoping they shut those doors and open a REAL supermarket with prices that aren't ridiculously high!
Miss Gordys on Birch Street so we broke down and visited the store in Chippewa Falls...Glad we did....walked in front door and picked up the smells of the bakery...Made me smile...shelfs stocked and staff very nice....
Hallie store is working hard to keep it together. Glad it's staying open. Hard to know what's going on but glad to have a grocery store downtown!!! Deli Dept is great. Good food choices all around! Convenient!
The store is still in legal limbo but I'm hoping for the best. It's slowly getting better but far from getting back to good. Let's all hope for the best.
I hate to give Gordy's 2 stars. Before their financial problems I would have definitely given 5 stars. Lately, you're lucky to get half of what you need/want with the empty shelves...
